It was 1945 when Valla was founded; after nearly a century of historic innovations that have revolutionized the market, such as the first pick & carry crane in 1961, VALLA research and development continues to offer the most advanced, reliable and time-honored solutions.
In the early 1960s, VALLA was the first company in the industry to recognize the need for a new material handling crane. It was a matter of developing a new functionality inserted between the forklift and truck cranes; thus, the first industrial self-propelled crane was born.
In the decades that followed, Valla continued its efforts to design, manufacture and market a series of products featuring exclusive patents and innovative performance, including the first battery-powered industrial self-propelled crane in 1972 and a full range of self-propelled cranes from 2 to 90 tons, whether electric, diesel, hybrid, wheeled or tracked, fixed or swiveling boom, with dozens of special applications.
In 2014, Valla was acquired by the Manitex International group, a multinational and structured entity that brings the experience and means to not only expand its sales and service network, but also to develop even more technologically advanced products for each application.
With the acquisition of Manitex International by Tadano Ltd. in 2025, Valla’s journey continues as part of one of the leading groups in the lifting industry, it is another opportunity for technological growth. With Tadano’s strategic support, Valla can further consolidate its historic roots in the industry, and further its mission to offer new, more effective and sustainable products, with important news as early as the upcoming GIS in September. It is a new chapter that brings enthusiasm and responsibility in facing the challenges and opportunities of a very promising future for those who, like Valla, have a history of innovation behind them.
