Ecranes, the Dutch rental specialist in fully electric pick & carry cranes, continues its growth in sustainable heavy lifting with the order of the Tadano V470RXX.
Based in Rotterdam and operating throughout Europe, Ecranes has built one of Europe’s most specialised fleets of electric pick & carry cranes. The company supports customers where precision, safety and environmental performance are critical, including heavy industry, petrochemical plants, utility construction, food production facilities, industrial relocations, shipyards and power generation sites.
As projects become heavier and more complex, demand for high-capacity electric lifting solutions continues to accelerate.
“The market is evolving rapidly,” says Kimball van Duivenbode, Managing Director of Ecranes. “Customers want more lifting capacity, but without compromising on emissions, safety or operational flexibility. The V470RXX allows us to enter a new segment of heavy industrial applications where zero-emission performance is becoming the standard rather than the exception.”
With a lifting capacity of up to 50 tonnes, the V470RXX enables Ecranes to handle heavy loads efficiently in confined or sensitive environments, including indoor facilities and regulated industrial sites. The crane’s fully electric drivetrain supports customers’ sustainability goals while reducing noise, emissions and operational restrictions on-site.
In addition to its lifting capacity, the configuration selected by Ecranes focuses on operational efficiency and safety. Features such as the self-assembly and self-loading counterweight system eliminate the need for additional lifting equipment during setup, reducing time, manpower, and site complexity. The GPSS (Ground Pressure Safety System) automatically adapts lifting performance to ground conditions, supporting safer operations on a wide variety of surfaces. Optional attachments, including a hydraulic telescopic jib and self-levelling fork package, further increase versatility across multiple applications.
“Reliability is crucial in rental,” van Duivenbode adds. “Equally important are strong after-sales support, fast technical response and parts availability. That confidence allows us to invest in larger and more advanced equipment while keeping uptime for our customers at the highest possible level.”
From Tadano’s perspective, this cooperation demonstrates the value of partnering with a company that brings extensive real-world experience in electric pick & carry lifting. Following the sale of the V320RC, the first model in the new heavy range unveiled at GIS, the Dutch rental specialist has now ordered the heavy duty V470RXX model.
“Ecranes understands the realities of zero-emission operations like few others,” says Paolo Balugani, CEO of Tadano Valla. “Their application knowledge makes them the ideal partner to introduce our Heavy Range cranes. The V470RXX is designed for increasingly demanding lifting challenges, and Ecranes is perfectly positioned to demonstrate its capabilities in daily practice.”
Delivery of the crane is scheduled for the end of the year. Once commissioned, it will be immediately available for rental throughout the Benelux, further strengthening Ecranes’ ability to support customers in their transition toward cleaner, safer and more efficient lifting solutions.
