NEW FROM MANITEX VALLA

Security takes 3 steps forward.

Here the last, main innovations introduced in the Manitex Valla V-R/RC series products since the end of 2023. They are the result of our efforts to meet our customers’ expectations with constant improvement of procedures and quality of our products, and to ensure ever greater efficiency and reliability.

Thanks to our exclusive double zero-leakage block valve system, we can ensure the immobility of the load even during prolonged installation periods.

With our « Vertical Mode, » lifting and lowering loads perfectly vertically, with a single movement, becomes a reality at your command. The era of complex maneuvers is over.

Each individual machine undergoes a rigorous final inspection process, which also includes a check of residual oil contamination, ensuring compli-ance with the stringent ISO 4406 standards.

Extreme Hold Valve: an unique solution.

During maintenance and installation operations on machinery or their components, it is sometimes necessary to keep the load suspended for hours and ensure its complete « immobility. » Despite the apparent obviousness of this requirement, the block valves commonly installed on the boom cylinders exhibit minimal leaks, equivalent to a few drops per minute. Even the slightest leakage can affect the stability of the suspended load and therefore the outcome of the ongoing intervention. In light of these considerations, Manitex Valla has developed a unique and innovative solution: EHV is a double zero leakage block valve system, specifically designed for Pick&Carry cranes, in collaboration with Valvole Italia, a leader in this field.

The effectiveness of this solution has been demonstrated through rigorous testing, ensuring complete load stability at any height. The valve designed for this system is distinguished by its internal redundancy in load-holding functionality. Compared to traditional solutions that use a single overcenter with mechanical seal between ground components, this configuration employs two overcenters mounted on a flanged block on the cylinder, arranged in series on the load support line.

This approach significantly enhances load stability over time and provides superior performance, even in unforeseen situations of oil contamination. Additionally, the valve is equipped with a damped opening system that, in synergy with the machine’s control system, ensures precise positioning and smooth movement, even at low speeds, making it ideal for precision work.

Vertical Mode: safety, simplicity and precision.

The implementation of a specific control setting is currently underway, available on the entire V-R and V-RC series from this month. This setting emerged from the needs expressed by some customers—a missing feature in the market that no manufacturer had ever proposed. However, it will undoubtedly facilitate crane operation, enhance maneuvering safety, and, in the worst cases, prevent damage to structures and facilities. This setting is called the « Vertical Mode » and can be executed through the radio control. By performing a single and straightforward maneuver with the control joystick, it guarantees a perfectly vertical lifting or lowering maneuver without any variation in radius.

While the use of the winch and the relative block, used with the boom positioned and stationary and at a certain height already guarantees this perfectly vertical lifting trajectory, this innovative control mode will be particularly appreciated in « Hook » and « Forklift » modes, allowing for precise vertical lifting without the need to separately control the tilt and telescope of the crane arm. The decision to lift or lower is made simply through a maneuver from the radiocontrol, leaving the interpolation of the two maneuvers to the onboard software and mechatronics.

Final quality control inspection: a commitment to excellence.

One of Manitex Valla’s most recent introductions is the activation of the final quality control inspection. This process represents a further step in the company’s commitment to ensuring excellent product quality for customers. At the end of the production chain, which includes assembly, testing, calibration, cleaning, and washing, a thorough check of all documentation and a detailed visual inspection of each individual machine are conducted, including optional equipment and accessories.

But that’s not all: after the tests, an analysis of the size and number of contaminating residual particles in the hydraulic oil used by the crane is performed. These particles must conform to the stringent ISO 4406 standards to ensure maximum efficiency. As a tangible sign of this quality control process, each positively evaluated product will be equipped with a « Final Quality Control Inspection » adhesive plate applied next to the CE plate of the crane.

We thus continue to concretely demonstrate to customers our seriousness and willingness to improve the work with constant innovations and increasingly useful new accessories and functions. More than 70 years of experience and activity have taught us that we need to do our best to be the most reliable and quality choice.
